Due to the Corona epidemic, all public gatherings were closed for a long time. Slowly they are starting again. Artists and listeners were living helplessly as the concert was closed in the entertainment hall. The livelihoods of artists and concertgoers were off. On the other hand, music lovers were getting depressed. The stalemate has begun to subside. Concerts have already started across the country. Organizers and artists have said that it will start in full swing in November.
Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Bogra and many other places in Bangladesh have already heard the news of the concert. On October 1, a grand concert was held in the Bashundhara residential area of the capital. Artcell, Untitled, Nemesis, Avoid Rafa, Savageri, Encore, another rock band performed songs in front of the overflowing audience. How did it feel to serve on stage after so many days?
Untitled team leader Zia said, ‘We forgot to sing on stage. A year and a half away from the stage. Then when the official start, it was a great start. The audience in the hall, the applause gave us strength and courage. I think coming out of the coma we singing people started a new life. ‘
Miles vocalist and guitarist Shafin Ahmed is positively watching the concert start after breaking the long stalemate. Although the band Miles has not started performing yet, Shafin Ahmed has taken part in two solo concerts. He said, ‘In the meantime, I sang in two good concerts, indoor and outdoor. We are very excited, suddenly a lot of phone calls have started coming, many are inquiring. Everyone is also planning a lot. The ICCB event in Dhaka on Friday was also extraordinary. The interest of the audience in the concert shows how much everyone was waiting. The artists were all suffocated, getting up on stage and getting their lives back. ‘
Farhadul Islam, managing director of Blues Communications, the big organizer of the concert, said, We also think, go to a little open space, be entertained. If you look at the concerts that have started, you can see the overflowing crowd. It is impossible to say how much damage has been done to this yard. However, the way it is starting, it is possible to turn around again. We are also monitoring the situation. I am thinking of organizing bigger than my own organization. The last one week, of course, I have seen a very good response.
Omar Mirza, head of Melody Entertainment, an artist management company, said he was happy with the start of the concert. “A lot of people thought about moving away from this sector, I think they would change their minds,” he said. And it is our responsibility to bring back those who have already changed their profession. If we want to take this sector forward, we have to work with all of them. Because, I think, in the last year and a half no new artists have been created, no crew has been created; So we have to move forward with them.
Raihan Islam, CEO of Chittagong Events, a Chittagong-based event management company, said: In the last year and a half, we have suffered a lot economically. Looks like our situation is going to change again. Various organizations have started contacting us about their various programs. Hopefully, in December and January, we will be able to return to the previous state.
Even after the concert started, everyone advised the organizers, artists and listeners to be careful. Although the corona situation has improved somewhat, the infection has not completely reached zero. So at the concert, of course, everyone is advising everyone to use a mask. “When we look at the United States and Australia, we see an increase in infections,” he said. In our country this wave starts in March. But now the infection has decreased.
