Elaborating on his imprisonment experience, Mahmudur Rahman said, “Everything I have written inside the jail is about corruption, but is there less corruption outside the jail?” What kind of inhuman treatment is being done inside the prison, is there any humane treatment in the country? ‘
Mentioning that everyone should be united in establishing a society of social justice, Mahmudur Rahman said, ‘There is no bowing down with injustice. Now everyone has to be strong from their place. We want to vote for rights, for freedom of expression. That doesn’t mean demanding, it’s about telling one’s conscience. ‘
Lawyer Shahdin Malik has commented that Bangladesh is gradually becoming a ‘terrorist state’. He said the first step is an authoritarian government. In the second stage, that authoritarian government became heavily dependent on law enforcement. The third step is that a large part of the law enforcement agencies gradually become criminals themselves.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the government has respect for drug addicts, thieves, robbers and money launderers. But those who oppose the government, those who protest, those whose voices are loud, are not respected.
