The US pharmaceutical company ‘Mark’ is testing the effectiveness of Malnupiravir. They will apply for emergency use in the United States as a corona drug in the next two weeks.
Meanwhile, with the approval of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the corona treatment of Malnupiravi will be recognized as the first oral antiviral drug. Mark conducted a study on 65 patients to verify the effectiveness of Malnupiravir. It was found that out of the patients who were treated with malnupiravi, only 7.3 percent had to be hospitalized. And no corona patient who took Malnupiravi died.
Anthony Fawcett, a top infectious disease specialist in the United States, said he was “delighted” by the success of the new drug. But he called on the United States to remain vigilant until the review.
Mark expects to produce one crore malnupiravis this year. With FDA approval, the US government has agreed to buy 1.20 billion worth of Malnupiravi from Mark.
