With Chihuahuan dominance, the first finalists of the National Rodeo Championship were defined, in this case in its 2020 edition, which takes place in the arena of the Ávalos complex in the city of Chihuahua.
This event hosts both 2020 and 2021 nationals, since last year they could not be carried out due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the barrel race, Chihuahua placed four participants among the 10 finalists, which are Brenda Trevizo, Andrea Gamboa, Natalia Loya and Sayra Moriel. The best time of the qualifying rounds was made by Paola González, from Tamaulipas, with 18,047 seconds, followed by Moriel, with 18,237.
In a tie in pairs, Carlos Ochoa and Jesús Vázquez - head and pialador, respectively - advanced to the final with the third best time, while in the tie of calves there will be four Chihuahuan finalists: Jaime Porras, Jorge Medina, Miguel Valenzuela and Víctor Hugo Bañuelos , who had the best time in the preliminaries, with 10.47 seconds.
Likewise, Marcos Núñez and Héctor González will be in the final of the horse riding with pretal, while in the bull riding, Enrique Holguín had the fifth best record and will be in the fight for the golden buckle.
Finally, in the flat steer the final will be almost Chihuahuan, since of the five finalists four are from our state, and they are Alejandro Grajeda, Emmanuel Bañuelos, Carlos Ochoa and Carlos Toledo, the latter with a great preliminary time of 10.27 , the best of slacks.
The finals of the Nacional 2020 will take place tomorrow Saturday, while those of 2021, whose preliminaries will be today Friday, will take place on Sunday, in the same space of the Ávalos complex, where the Santa Rita Fair is usually held.
