A Pair of Horses are Invited to ProRodeo Hall of Fame

June 2, 2022 by SportDown Leave a Comment

ProRodeo News: A pair of horses are guest at ProRodeo Hall of Fame

The ProRodeo Hall of Fame recently welcomed two visitors who will stay through Labor Day.

F42 Hostage and A83 Broken Sky were brought in by Cervi Championship Rodeo. On May 27, the horses arrived at the Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They are part of the cattle show, which debuted on May 28 and runs through Labor Day.

After a two-year hiatus, we’re excited to bring back the rodeo cattle show this summer, according to Kent Sturman, director of the ProRodeo Hall of Fame. Visitors are delighted to see them. The presence of live animals helps us educate people about the animals used in the rodeo and the care they receive. These creatures are athletes in their own right, and we’re thrilled to be able to showcase their skills with visitors to the Hall of Fame.

The horses will be housed in the Hall of Fame Barn during their stay. The Barn is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. m. to 5 p.m. m. seven days a week (MT). Visitors are encouraged to come to see the horses and learn more about the animals used in the professional rodeo.

F42 Hostage started rodeo in 1997 and retired in 2016. He competed in the Wrangler National Rodeo Finals on several occasions. On his way to the world title that year, Bobby Mote won round 4 of the 2007 NFR with a run of 85.5 points.

F42 Hostage has given birth to 17 foals. P16 Hell’s Fire Hostage and W30 Guardian Angel, for example, have had appearances in NFR.

V60 Womanizer, the 2020 PRCA Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year, is a cousin of A83 Broken Sky. The grandmother is 706 Big Sky, who has been nominated for the NFR TV pen several times.

A83 Broken Sky will begin his rodeo career at age 5 on the Cervi chain next year.

Binion Cervi stated, “I’m thrilled that we were able to get her there (into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame) and pass on her story.” The hostage is a 25-year-old mare. She is expecting a baby in the middle of June and is pregnant. The PRCA can help with that, and the Hall of Fame has a beautiful facility for older horses, so it’s a good fit for her.

Broken Sky is a very new stallion with excellent bloodlines. His professional career has not started yet, so this is a good springboard for him. He will be a year older next year, and we will begin to challenge him.
