Boudreaux Campbell is no foreigner to big-time lifts. This is his sixth time in ProRodeo, and at the end of every season leading up to 2022, he ended it with making a trip to the Wrangler National Tests Rodeo.
A record lift prodded his run to the Thomas and Mack Center a time ago at the San Angelo (Texas) Rodeo. In the first round of the rodeo, Campbell set the arena record and put together the loftiest scored lift of his PRCA career with92.5 points on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Oyster Bayou.
“I remember it like it was history. It was a perfect day,” said Campbell, 23.”I had a young bull of Pete Carr’s. I did not know important about him, and he did not have numerous stats to his name.
“Hayden Shaw told me you can presumably be 93 or 94 on him. They saved me for the last eschewal and it all came together. It was picture perfect ending. I rode him, stepped off on my bases, and we were92.5 points. It was perfect.”
The five-time Wrangler NFR qualifier said the San Angelo Rodeo has always been one of his pets.
“San Angelo has a cool arena, it’s a great rodeo, and the suckers are always great there,” he said.”There is a lot of energy in that structure, so just to ride a bull that good and end up on your bases being that numerous points in that arena, there is really no better feeling. It’s not the NFR, but it feels infernal sure close to it.”
Campbell is listed to ride at San Angelo Xtreme Bulls event but may have to be sidelined. He’s coming off a broken hand suffered nearly a month agone.
“I am entered in the San Angelo Xtreme Bulls, but I have got a broken riding hand right now,” Campbell said.” So, I am kind of taking it slow. I might be suitable to come back for that one, but we’ll just have to play it by observance.”
