In an exciting outcome, riders Alfredo Moreno Echeverría and Luis Eduardo Cortés, representatives of the Santiago Sur Association, were proclaimed champions of the Northern Zone Qualifier held last weekend in the Chocalán medialuna, Melipilla.
Riding Barquero and Romancero, from the Palmas de Peñaflor Breeding Center, he duo won the Champions Series with a total of 29 good points (5+9+7+8), thus ensuring their direct qualification to the final of the 76th National Rodeo Championship .
Moeno and Cortés improved in the final, adding 5 points in the first animal and increasing their performance in the following phases with records of 9 and 7 points, reaching 21 units and placing themselves five points below Joaquín Mallea and Álvaro Baeza.
In the decisive instance, the Palmas de Peñaflor team managed to add 8 more points, achieving a total of 29 and surpassing Mallea and Baeza, who in Romería and Toletole only added one point, remaining in second place with 27 units (11+10+5+1).

Third place in the Champions Series went to José Abarca and Diego Navea, idriders from the Santiago Cumbre Association, who earned 26 points (8+8+4+6) riding Maestro and Frontal.
Meanwhile, the Breed Seal was awarded to Romancero, from the Palmas de Peñaflor Breeding Center, and ridden by Luis Eduardo Cortés.
